The right tool for 2009 Toyota Corolla 1.8 Oct 11, 2009
I purchased this tool for a 2009 Toyota Corolla 1.8 based on other reviews. Works fine as indicated by the other reviews. I bought the Blitz ramps to raise the car, since it is so low. As it turns out, I only needed to use my floor jack. Don't be intimidated to change your own cartridge filter. It's just about as easy as the can type.

Purchased for 2009 Toyota Avalon. Did some research online because of the filter cartridge and found this filter wrench. It is a must have for the do-it-yourself person. Fit and quality of product well worth the price. Highly recommended.
Perfect Tundra Oil Filter Wrench Sep 10, 2009
This wrench perfectly fits my 2007 Toyota Tundra oil filter end cap. In fact, it fits so well, be careful not to jam it on as it is difficult to remove with oily surfaces on the filter and the wrench.

I've found many a creative way to make due with the tools that I have, but I HIGHLY recommend buying this tool if you plan on changing your own oil in a 2009 Corolla. The 2009 Corolla went to a cartridge type oil filter--it does not have a disposable spin on metal canister type of filter. The area to access the plastic cap which must be removed to access the oil filter cartridge is tight. A "universal" filter wrench (which fits 2 sizes of filters) will NOT work--it is too deep--not enough clearance. A traditional strap type of oil filter wrench may not work either--it is tight in there--and the strap may mar the plastic cover that must be removed and reused. This is the first time I ever bought an oil filter tool that fits on the end of the filter--you need this tool for the 2009 Corolla!!!! (and maybe other Toyota models). Shallow depth wrench (more shallow than picture indicates)--very good quality--use with 3/8" drive ratchet.
Toyota cannister filter - this is what you need Aug 18, 2009
I have a 2007 RAV 4 V6 and change my own oil. This tool fits the cannister perfectly and makes installing a new filter cartridge and "O" rings a snap. You just need a common 3/8" rachet driver to fit the hole. Worth every penny for this well made, accurate, quality product. If you have one of the 65 mm canister type filter housings, and change your own oil, you can't do better than this. Highly recommended.
